"Hoppers" Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined Programs (ages 8-14)

Sunday Program: Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined for Kids

In this multi‐session jumping program, qualified coaches guide participants through a progression of dryland and on‐snow skills leading to their first attempts on our 20 and 40 meter junior jumps. With a 1‐hour skate skiing component to start each program day, participants will also get in touch with the sport of Nordic Combined.

Participants develop or advance ski jumping and skate skiing skills in a safe, progressive cross‐training environment.
 

   
Who:  8‐14 year‐olds (beginner to advanced skiers, no prior jumping experience required)
When: Sundays, 10:00am – 3:00 pm
Series 1: December 10, 17, 23 (Saturday), January 7, 14, 21 
Series 2: February 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25
Cost: $240 + tax per 6 week series (15% off if registering for both series).
Program fees include daily park pass and rentals. Registered participants qualify for a $45 Youth Sport Season Pass.
Equipment: Participants will use Whistler Olympic Park’s Ski Jumping and Nordic equipment, but must bring their CSA approved snow sports helmet.

Wednesday Night: Ski Jumping for Kids

A variation of our full‐day Sunday Hoppers program, Hoppers ‐ Wednesday Night Flights offers evening ski jumping practices on our junior jumps. Each practice begins with an instructional session with a top notch coach.

Jumpers can then head up to the top of the inrun for their first flights on the 20 meter hill. By the end of the season, participants can progress to the 40 meter training jump. Explore the sport of ski jumping in a safe, progressive training environment. Participate in a mock competition at the end of each 6 week session.

Series 2: January 31, February 7, 14, 21, 28, March 7
Cost: $120 + tax per 6 week series (registration required, no drop‐ins)
Participants qualify for a $45 Youth Sport Season Pass
Equipment: Equipment: Participants should bring their our own properly adjusted alpine or Telemark equipment, or they can use hybrid Nordic jumping skis. All participants must bring their CSA approved snow sports helmet.
