Guest Activity Rep, Summer

The Guest Activity Rep, Summer creates the experience for our guests at Whistler Olympic Park.  The guest experience is enhanced by their ability to share information, educate, and engage.  Excellent customer service, a high level of product knowledge, and great interpretive and interpersonal skills are required for this position.  In addition, this role endeavors to maximize sales, drive business to target products, forward customer feedback to their Supervisor, and maintains a safe and clean environment.  Casual and Temporary Full Time summer seasonal roles are available and require ability to work holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities: 
  • Welcome guests at the gate with information about activities and safety within WOP
  • Sell entry fee and Biathlon Experience to the guest, operating Sirius ware to manage sales
  • Patrol the park, interacting with guests and ensuring safety rules are being followed
  • Educate and instruct participants in our “Biathlon Experience”
  • Process cash reconciliation at the end of each shift and submit to Supervisor, Guest Services for bank deposit with explanation of any over/short issues
  • Adhere to internal control of cash handling procedures
  • Manage and maintain range, firing line, rifles and targets in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure all public areas are kept clean, including public washrooms and Day Lodge
  • Assist in group sales activities
  • Carry-out efficient rental equipment distribution process as directed
  • Ensure the preparation and ongoing maintenance of all rental equipment
  • Develop a high level of product knowledge for every product and service that we provide
  • Accurately compile and summarize information as requested
  • Foster a strong culture of health & safety; work with Human Resources and Safety to ensure all WorkSafeBC and BC Safety Authority requirements are met

  • Assist team with other duties as assigned or required
Education/Experience: 
  • Accurate cash handling experience with a keen eye to detail required
  • PAL certification (Firearms Acquisition License) an asset
  • Experience working in a customer service oriented position is an asset
  • First Aid qualifications an asset
  • Knowledge of the Olympic Nordic disciplines (cross-country skiing,biathlon, ski jumping, and Nordic combined) an asset
  • Valid BC Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License an asset

  • Excellent “in person” customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow range protocol and maintain a safe firearms working environment required
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills required
  • Ability to establish quick rapport to build relationships and network
  • Willingness to do custodial duties as required
  • Willingness to assist other team members (at times outside of the department) as needed and requested
  • Passion for exceptional customer service is essential
Physical Requirements: 
  • Reliable transportation (WOP is not serviced by transit)
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to regularly lift 50lbs
