Training at Whistler Olympic Park

Located 20 minutes south of Whistler in the stunning Callaghan Valley, Whistler Olympic Park is a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities and Nordic sport. Established for the Nordic events of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, the Park's incredible facilities are now enjoyed by both high-performance athletes and recreational guests alike. Whistler Olympic Park offers year-round training opportunities for cross-country skiing and biathlon, as well as seasonal training opportunities for ski jumping.

In the winter, athletes can access close to 90 kilometers of beginner to expert cross-country ski trails, an internationally sanctioned biathlon range, four jumping hills (HS 20, HS 40, HS 106 & HS140), storage and wax facilities, and full-service day lodge.

In the spring/summer/fall, the Park offers a paved roller ski network, biathlon range access, and natural trails - making for a perfect dry-land training environment. Book range and roller ski access seven days a week, pending venue operating hours. Please note, the range closes annually in April for spring maintenance, and early November to prepare for winter operations. Closures subject to change.

In late fall, Whistler Olympic Park also offers pre-season access to "Callaghan Gold" - a 1.5-kilometre trail made out of natural snow from the previous season. This is strengthened by our snowmaking capacity, allowing us to extend the 1.5 km loop as conditions permit.

Early Season On Snow

Pre-Season:

In late fall, Whistler Olympic Park offers early-season bonus weekends with access to approximately 1.5 kilometres of skiable terrain. The trail is made up of approximately 10,000 cubic meters of stored snow ("Callaghan Gold" - natural snow stored over the summer) and machine made snow. When weather permits, natural snow is added to the mix until we are able to open our main trail network. With access to the biathlon range, the early-season loop is designed with  club and high performance training in mind. Each year, this product is projected to be open from mid-November until our official opening day late November, weather dependent.
